The guides and information on this Site are generated using artificial intelligence and are provided for informational purposes only.

Handiy is not a licensed contractor, electrician, plumber, HVAC technician, or professional repair service. Nothing on this Site constitutes professional advice. You should always consult a qualified professional before performing any repair, especially where there is risk of personal injury, property damage, voiding a manufacturer warranty, or non-compliance with local building codes.

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HANDIY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION:

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL HANDIY, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR ANY CONTENT, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Personal injury or death resulting from following a repair guide
• Property damage, including damage to appliances or surrounding structures
• Loss of data or business interruption
• Costs of substitute goods or services

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, Handiy’s liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed CAD $100.

By using the Site, you agree that you will:

• Consult qualified professionals for repairs involving electrical wiring, gas lines, structural elements, or other high-risk work
• Comply with all applicable local, provincial/state, and federal laws and regulations
• Not use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could harm others
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or reproduce our content at scale without written permission
• Not upload photos that contain personal information, private property of others, or material that infringes third-party rights

All content on this Site — including guide text, images, UI design, the Handiy name and logo, and the underlying software — is owned by or licensed to Handiy and is protected by Canadian copyright law and applicable international intellectual property laws.

You may access and use guides for personal, non-commercial repair purposes. You may not copy, republish, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works from Site content without express written permission from Handiy.

If you register for a Pro Portal account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised access at hello@handiybook.com.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used for fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful purposes.

Handiy uses third-party services including Supabase (database and authentication), Anthropic (AI processing), Upstash (rate limiting), and Vercel (hosting). Use of these services is also governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. Handiy is not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.

The Site may contain links to external websites. These links are provided for convenience only. Handiy does not endorse or assume responsibility for any external content.

Repair guides on Handiy are synthesised by artificial intelligence (Anthropic’s Claude models) based on aggregated technical information. While we design prompts to produce accurate, step-by-step content, AI models can produce incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information. We do not manually verify every step of every guide.

We display this disclaimer on every guide page. By using a guide, you acknowledge that you understand the AI-generated nature of the content and assume responsibility for verifying its accuracy before acting.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting the updated version with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify Pro Portal account holders by email of any material changes.
